Tarot Reading Practice: Sunday, June 2

As this is our first meet-up, I thought it would be nice to build an exercise around introducing ourselves to each other.

Before we meet, I would like you to organise your deck into three piles:

16 court cards
22 Major Arcana cards
40 pips

I would like you to look through the cards face up and consciously choose the following:

  • A card that you feel describes your character from the 16 court cards
  • A card that describes a significant life event [that you are willing to share with the group] from the 22 Major Arcana
  • A card that describes how you are feeling now / something you are experiencing from the 40 pips.

I am giving you time to consider these cards before our meeting and hope that you will feel comfortable enough to share your choices (and reasons for choosing the cards) as part of your introduction during our time together. Our meet-ups are a safe space. They will not be recorded and I encourage everyone to be sensitive and respectful towards each other and those things we share.

You will need to keep your cards in their separate piles for our meeting, since we will be continuing with the exercise during the hour. I am hoping that by the end of our practice session, we will all know a little more about each other … and ourselves.

Hello, Steve.
It’s nice to read you here too.

One doubt right from the start: 50 Pip Cards? :hushed:
From 1 to 10 in 4 Suits (Coins, Cups, Swords and Batons) are 40 Pip Cards.

Is it a typo or am I missing something?

Thank you,
César

Hi César. Good spot. Yes, t’s a typo  Should be 40.

There are reading practices in the Tarot de Marseilles Course. I would like to discuss the story I crafted concerning the 2 of coins, Temperance and The Emperor from Temprance’s point of view. Is there a thread where we discuss this?

Is there a Zoom link or will it be in this forum?

Today looks fun and interesting :boom: I look forward to meeting and learning from everyone later this month :sun_with_face:

Great question! The best place to post about your spread is in the Reading category.

You can find that here:

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
